On the morning of Friday July 8, 2022 the Watch Hill Fire Department was requested to 413 Atlantic Avenue for a report of an odor of smoke in a home. Watch Hill was initially dispatched because a Misquamicut engine was out of service. While responding more information indicated that upon further inspection a burst pipe and charring on the inside of the building. Because of this additional information Ladder 104 was added to the original assignment and responded with four members. Upon arrival members of the Watch Hill Fire Department observed the charred remains on the interior and Car 106 requested a full first alarm assignment which brought several additional resources. Members searched the interior of the building for several to help determine the source as well as any pockets of active fire. After over an hour the building was tuned over to the Rhode Island State Fire Marshal to investigate the cause of the fire.
