Watch Hill Firefighters Extinguish Brush Fire

Watch Hill firefighters responded to a report of a large outside fire that was spreading quickly near the intersection of Browning Road and Watch Hill Road at approximately 7:50 PM on Saturday night. Watch Hill Engine 102 and Engine 103 were dispatched along with Misquamicut Engine 202 and Engine 203. The first arriving units located an approximately 1/2 acre brush fire in a heavily wooded area approximately two thousand feet off the road on the far side of the Misquamicut Club golf course. Watch Hill ATV 100 and Misquamicut ATV 200 were requested to the scene to assist with transporting the firefighters and equipment across the golf course and into the woods. The fire was extinguished without incident within twenty minutes using numerous pressurized water extinguishers along with brush rakes and shovels.
