The members of the Watch Hill Fire Department responded to and helped extinguish a vehicle fire beyond the Olympia Tea Room on the afternoon of Sunday June 12th. After receiving a call for "heavy smoke in the area" Chief Peacock arrived on scene and found several employees of the restaurant attempting to extinguish the fire using fire extinguishers from the local businesses. Engine 102 arrived shortly thereafter and quickly contained the remainder of the fire before it spread further. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. As always, the members of the Watch Hill Fire Department and its members performed admirably in their service to the community.
