| Captain Perkins is now a contributing columnist to the Westerly Sun. Her monthly column will promote fire prevention and fire safety while answering many of the common questions that local fire chiefs hear on a regular basis. The concept is suppported by the local fire chiefs and by the Executive Officers of the Rhode Island Southern Fire League. They believe that this column will be a positive addition to the local newspaper and will be an educational benefit to the community.
Each month, Jane will answer a question related to fire safety, fire prevention, or fire protection while also providing readers with a better idea of what local firefighters do, how local fire departments operate, and what people can do to help make themselves, their families, and their communities safer.
