Watch Hill firefighters joined local Firefighters and other First Responders from throughout the area yesterday to participate in a 9/11 Memorial Procession that began on Ward Avenue and passed under the American Flag raised between Watch Hill Ladder 104 and Westerly Ladder 1 before proceeding through the center of town to the Westerly Town Hall where a short ceremony was held.

Watch Hill Fire, Westerly Fire, Dunns Corners Fire, Misquamicut Fire, Westerly Ambulance, and Westerly Police participated in the procession along with Hospital employees, and local Veterans.

The Memorial Procession was intended to serve as a reminder of the 343 firefighters, 60 police officers, and thousands of others that lost their lives on that tragic day as well as to serve as a tribute to the sacrifices that many members of our local community put forth on that tragic day and in the months and years that followed.

WE WILL NEVER FORGET!
