The four Fire Districts in Westerly combined forces and purchased a new twenty foot by thirty foot American Flag that is specifically manufactured with lanyards, grommets, and wind slits and is designed to be displayed between two Fire Department Aerial Ladder Trucks.

The cost of the flag was shared equally by the Watch Hill Fire District, The Westerly Fire District, The Misquamicut Fire District, and the Dunns Corners Fire District. It is available to all four districts as well as our mutual aid partners as needed.

The flag is commonly flown to pay respect to fallen firefighters and their families as well as during funerals, parades, ceremonies and other special events.

It was most recently used during the 50th Anniversary Event of the Charlestown Ambulance Rescue Service.
