STORM WARNING!

We are expecting a very strong storm to affect the Watch Hill area throughout the day and evening on Monday. Forecasters are predicting heavy rain and strong gusts of wind as well as the potential for powerful thunderstorms. The high temperature will be in the mid fifties and the low temperature will be in the mid forties. There will be a strong wind from the South of 20 to 25 mph in the morning increasing to 30 to 35 mph in the afternoon before turning to a strong wind from the West. The sustained wind gusts may be as high as 60 mph. The chance of precipitation is 90 percent and the rainfall amounts are expected to be up to 2 inches with much higher amounts possible in areas affected by scattered thunderstorms along the storm front.

Please ensure that all of your devices such as phones and laptops are fully charged overnight in the event that the wind and falling tree branches bring down power lines. National Grid is warning that power may be out for an extended period until the storm and high winds pass and power restoration efforts can begin.

Please be sure to secure outside items that may become a dangerous projectile during the wind gusts.

Please assume that all power lines are energized and do not approach any downed power lines.

Notify the Fire Department of any downed power lines by dialing 911.

Be Safe!
