The Watch Hill Fire Department, along with Westerly Police, Westerly Ambulance, and Westerly Rescue responded to a motor vehicle accident on Watch Hill Road that was reported to involve a rollover and entrapment. The call came in just after 11:30 PM on Sunday evening. Upon arrival of Engine 102, Chief Simmons reported that the MVA was located at Ridge Road and involved a single occupant who had self extricated from the pickup truck that had left the roadway and rolled onto its side in the woods. Firefighters secured several minor fluid spills and provided first aid to the victim while awaiting the arrival of a Westerly Ambulance crew. The victim was transported to Westerly Hospital with minor injuries while Engine 102 and its crew handled the spills and assisted the tow truck to remove the truck from the woods. The call was cleared by Car 101 just after midnight. Special Thanks to all who responded to the call at the late hour and to the mutula aid agencies involved.
