The Watch Hill Fire Department offered another public fire extinguisher training class to our residents in a continuing effort to encourage our community members to become involved and to be part of the solution by being properly trained and prepared to use a fire extinguisher in order to put out a small fire before it becomes a large problem.

The one hour class is offered several times a year and consists of a brief presentation and a short video followed by an opportunity for hands on practical experience using a fire extinguisher on a real fire.

The class complements and reinforces the philosophy of the Watch Hill Firefighters that the best fire is the fire that never starts due to our fire prevention efforts and the second best fire is the fire that is extinguished prior to our arrival due to properly trained and prepared community members.
