A boat accident involving a powerboat in Little Narragansett Bay resulted in the rescue of four adults by a joint response effort of the Watch Hill Fire Department, Pawcatuck Fire Department, Wequetequock Fire Department, Westerly Police and Stonington Police.

The incident occurred at approximately 8 PM on August 5th when Stonington Police received a call for assistance from a vessel with several adults on board reporting that they had struck rocks off Osbrook Point and were rapidly taking on water. As rescue boats from Stonington Police, Watch Hill Fire and Pawcatuck Fire began searching the waters, additional firefighters began searching from the shoreline on both sides of the bay. The boat was quickly located between Sandy Point and Osbrook Point and the victims were treated by Watch Hill Emergency Medical Technicians while enroute to shore. The victims were further evaluated and treated for minor injuries on shore and one victim was transported by Westerly Ambulance with a shoulder injury.
