On June 13th at 1552 hours, Watch Hill Fire responded along with automatic aid from Misquamicut Fire to a reported fire in the pump room on the lower level of the Ocean House Hotel & Resort. Responding firefighters arrived to find a smoke condition throughout the lower level hallways and pump room. Upon entry to the pump room, firefighters located members of the Ocean House Engineering staff who were working to fight the fires in two large motors using portable dry chemical fire extinguishers while also attempting to disconnect power to the area. Firefighters from Watch Hill and Misquamicut assisted in completing the extinguishment of the fires and then used a sequence of smoke ejectors and positive pressure fans to ventilate the smoke from the lower levels.
