| The Watch Hill Fire Department is proud to announce that our new ATV arrived in late December. After a few weeks of preparation the new ATV was placed in service recently after training courses on the operations of the apparatus were completed. A 2012 Polaris 6X6 ATV the new unit replaces the 2005 model. ATV-100 is equipped with a winch for use during calls. It also carries a stokes basket for patient transport and has many tools needed for beach and water rescues. It has warning lights and a siren to ensure safe and quick response to emergency calls. We also have a flatbed trailer so the new ATV can be easily transported to another district if needed for a large scale incident.
A special thanks goes out to Deputy Chief Bob Peacock for being such a big part in getting this new ATV for the Department. We would also like to thank all of the members who have helped get her ready for service in the past few weeks.
As always the volunteers of the Watch Hill Fire Department stand ready to serve at any time and now with the addition of our new ATV-100 that will make our jobs easier and safer. |
