The members of the Watch Hill Fire Department took time to gather and honor their members this past Friday evening on the department's annual Awards and Banquet at the Venice restaurant. This annual event is a time to thank each of our members and their families for the time and sacrifice put in throughout the previous year. Among those honored were:

Firefighter of the Year: Deputy Chief Jason Simmons
Officer of the Year: Captain Jane Perkins
Member of the Year: Firefighter Raymond Elterich
Carl Greene Award: Lieutenant Christopher Koretski

Also honored was Mr. George Nicholas, father of Firefighter James Nicholas, whose family was presented with the Charles Desillier Award for his family's contributions and support for the fire department this past year.
