WHFD Responds to Flare Sighting Near Watch Hill

The members of the Watch Hill Fire Department and members of the United States Coast Guard responded to a report of emergency flares sighting in the early morning hours of July 6th. The department's newly purchased Marine unit was quickly dispatched and members aboard the vessel witnessed more flares while responding. The members of the department assisted the Coast Guard in the search for the vessel in need for nearly three hours before returning after a long night.
